Ganda Karnan is another fiery theyyam which has always attracted wide range of onlookers. Ganda Karnan is believed to be originated from Lord Shiva. The story behind the origin of theyyam goes in the following manner. Bhadra Kali killed Darikan. Darikan's wife Manodari was terribly broke and furious. Manodhari started praying Lord Shiva and pleased him with her prayer. She requested for a boon. Shiva gave some drops of his sweat and blessed that whoever is sprinkled with this sweat drops, they will be affected with small pox.
